Installing RightSpend

Installing RightSpend is easy. You can be up and running in minutes. We require simple read-only access to your AWS accounts. We use this access to analyze your EC2 spend. Additionally we have a separate stack that provides limited write permissions to manage cRIs, only within a designated account.

Step 1

Install this CloudFormation template into your AWS Management Account. This template uses stacksets to keep all member accounts up to date; it will deploy this stack in ALL accounts in your organization.

  • Name the stack whatever you please.
  • When prompted for an ExternalID, please set a unique value. This is an additional security measure.
  • Check “I acknowledge AWS CloudFormation might create IAM resources with custom names.”
  • Let us know once this is complete, along with the ExternalID value you set, and your Management Account ID.
Step 2

Install this separate stack ONLY to the accounts designated for cRI management:

Savings Assessment

The easiest way to get a free savings assessment is to connect your AWS Management Account to the CloudFix core product.

Navigate to the CloudFix Core Product and follow the instructions to connect your AWS Management Account. After about two days we’ll have enough data to provide you with a free savings assessment.

Additionally, you will get access to the CloudFix core product which provides you with a dashboard of savings opportunities that are based on resource fixes.

Tip

CloudFix Core and RightSpend are complementary products. You can use one without the other, but they work best together. CloudFix Core optimizes your AWS resources and RightSpend optimizes your AWS discounts.

If you don’t want to use the CloudFix core product, you can still get a free savings assessment.

To do so, install this very simple read-only CloudFormation template into your management account.

  • Name the stack whatever you please.
